Board Meeting Jan. 19th 2003 BOARD MEMBER PRESENT - Amy Edwards, Theresa Kausrud, Marilyn Murphy, Michelle Desclouz, Kathryn Wells, Medeleine Carroll, Bebecca Bradley, Molly Rheynard. AND Board members at large- Julie Sanford, Molly Rheynard. OTHERS PRESENT- Chris Cochrane, Lisa Jannings, Judy Weber, and Jim Murphy. Board Meeting called to order at 2:20 pm SHOW DATES - CHANGES July 21 & 22 - Lou Don II - Basic and Regular rings Treasurers Report: Balance as of 12/31/2002 - $1,337.23 Nomination of new officers: PRESIDENT - Amy Edwards TREASURER - Molly Rheynard PARLIAMENTARIAN - Madeleine Carroll POINT KEEPER - Julie Sanford SUNSHINE COMMITTEE - Chris Cochrane VICE PRESIDENT - Kathryn Wells SECRETARY - Becky Bradley MEMBERSHIP - Theresa Kausrud NEWSLETTER - Theresa Kausrud JUDGES APPROVAL - Becky Bradley, Chris Cochrane, Mike Hanson, Jim Murphy, Chris Grahl. Motion was made by Michelle Descloux to accept new officers, seconded by Theresa Kausrud, motion passed by all. HORSE SHOW EVALUATIONS - Motion was made by Amy Edwards to accept the continuation of the Horse Show Evaluations for the show season 2003. Seconded by Michelle Descloux. Suggestion was made to have the show barns hand out Evaluations at sign up and continuously announce throughout show weekend. POSSIBLE CLASS CHANGES - Discussion on fences changes for the regular ring to remove, add, or combine classes. Information on the class totals was handed out. With a suggestion on new proposals, on some new class changes. Motion was made by Theresa Kausrud to for a horse show committee to explore changes in the regular ring class schedule. Accept the removal of some classes and to combine other classes, seconded by Michelle Descloux., passed by all. Further discussion tabled until of possible class changes carry on at the General Membership meeting. Motion made by Theresa Kausrud and seconded by Michelle Descloux. to close board meeting - motion passed by all. 2003 General Membership Minutes GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES 10/5/02 READ BY - Becky Bradley. Motion made by Michelle Descloux to accept minutes as read by Becky Bradley, seconded by Theresa kausrud, passed by all. TREASURY REPORT - Molly Rheynard. Balance as of 12/31/2002 - $1,337.23 Motion made by Jim Murphy to accept treasury report, seconded by Michelle Descloux, passed by all. HORSE SHOW RETIRED TROPHIES AND AWARDS - Cedar lodge has two retired trophies belonging to Agie Bathke and Bob Egan. Lisa Jannings volunteered to return Bob Egan's trophy. Everyone was asked of new address of Agie so that it may be mailed to her. No one knew her new address. A request for Agie's address was made for anyone that might know it, so that her trophy may be returned to her. 2003 SHOW MEDALS - Marilyn Murphy will order and send medals for 2003 to Jilie Sanford. HORSE SHOW EVALUATIONS - It was decided that a Horse Show Improvement Committee would be formed. This committee would evaluate the 2002 Horse Show evaluations and put together a letter of possible improvements for each show-hosting barn based on those evaluation results. Each letter would ask for responses back to the committee for how barn plan to make the suggested improvements what they do plan on doing for improvements for their scheduled show dates. BANQUET 2003- Election of Banquet Coordinators - Jim Murphy, Michelle Descloux, Theresa Kausrud, Jile Sanford, Chris Cochrane, Nancy Chess Election of banquet Award Coordinatior - Michelle Descloux Date set for 2003 banquet is November 8, 2003 Jim Murphy will check out the cost at the Peacock {in where?} for hosting the 2003 LMHJA banquet. WEBSITE - Judy Weber will help Tiffany maintain the website. NEWSLETTER/EQUINE TIMES - Currently LMHJA pays 8.00/membership for the use of the Equine Times. Keeping up with publishing of Membership and Horse Show results has proved a time consuming demand that has often fallen short of expectations. The feeling over the pass two general membership meetings has been that the same services could be rendered at half the cost by: The LMHJA Web Site and a LMHJA Newsletter. LMHJA meeting and once a month during the show season. The newsletter would cover not only the meeting minutes, but dates for up coming meetings sand during the show season, the point results of all divisions. seconded by Marilyn Murphy, passed by all. OTHER AVENUES - A newsletter will be put together and mailed out after each meeting and them monthly during the horse show season. Theresa Kausrud volunteered to publish the LMHJA newsletter for the year 2003. POSSIBLE CLASS CHANGES - A committee was formed to look at the possible removal, combining or adding of classes and add on of classes. In the Regular Ring for 2003. Committee - Lisa Jannings, Amy Edwards, Molly Rheynard, and Marilyn Murphy. DATES OF NEXT MEETING - all meetings are scheduled at Cedar Lodge Horse Show Evaluation Committee - February 9, 2003 @ 12:00 p.m. CLASS CHANGES COMMITTEE - February 9, 2003 @ 1:00 pm LMHJA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING - February 9, 2003 @ 2:00 pm RULEBOOK/BYLAW COMMITTEE MEETING - to follow after the General Membership meeting.
