1. Membership runs from Oct. 1, 2009 to Sept. 30, 2010, regardless of the month membership was paid.  Membership fees should be paid no sooner than October 1st, but no later than April 1st to ensure early placement on mailing list for rulebooks, show bills and to assist membership and point keepers for record keeping purposes.
2. Show season starts May 1 and ends September 30, 2010.
3. Stall reservations need to be made at least 7 days prior to the Friday of the show weekend. There will be a $25/stall fee for failure to make reservations.
4. In order to participate in any medal classes (Basic or Regular ring), exhibitor must be a current LMHJA member in good standing. Participation in the USHJA medal classes requires membership in USHJA.
5. US Equestrian rule GR801.2: “It is compulsory for riders in all Hunter, Jumper and Hunt Seat Equitation classes . . . , where jumping is required and when jumping anywhere on the competition grounds to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag.  It must be properly fitted with harness secured.”  Protective headgear must be worn while mounted, whether schooling or showing.  All juniors must wear ASTM/SEI approved headgear, with properly fitting harness whenever riding (US Equestrian rule GR801.3).
6. LMHJA supports the US Equestrian rules regarding show attire. (US Equestrian rule JP111.5 – Attire) Management, at its discretion, may allow competitors to compete without riding coats.  If a riding coat is not worn, riders must wear a shirt with a collar or a choker, neatly tucked into riding breeches. A windbreaker jacket or raincoat may be worn if conditions require.  In all cases, riders must appear neatly attired to appear before the public or be subject to penalty of elimination by the judges.
7. The humane treatment of horses will be monitored.
8. Trainers are responsible for making sure riders and horses are entered in proper divisions. The trainer and rider will be given a verbal warning for the first offense of entering into a wrong class or division.  If a second offense is discovered, then a $25 fine will be imposed upon the offending party.  No points for the rider’s horse or any horse the rider owns will be given, until the fine is paid.  (Payment of the fine will be determined between the rider and trainer.) The Point Keeper must be informed of any offenses and unpaid penalties in order to maintain points.
